CIC373--The Greeting Farm

Hello and welcome to another challenge at Cupcake Inspirations! We have an incredible sponsor--The Greeting Farm!  The prize, for one lucky participant, is a $25 gift certificate to The Greeting Farm.  Wowza!  The challenge this week is to create a project using the theme-Sweet Inside. Be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations.  Can't wait to see your interpretation of the challenge!  ~D

Now onto my card. I decided to make a little goodie bag that includes sweet treats inside. I used two products from The Greeting Farm. I used the Thanks and Thank You Dies and the Perk Up stamp set. I also used Lil' Inkers bow die, heart dies from Sweet & Sassy as well as a Sizzix frame die. I die cut, did a bit of paper piecing and adhered everything. Inside I added a bag of sweet treats--chocolate covered coffee beans!  Now I need to decide who to give it to before I eat all the coffee beans!  :)

YNS-School Thanks

Well school is back in session!
I squeezed in some time to craft today.
I pulled out YNS's Perfect Chemistry stamp set to celebrate a brand new school year. The white box on the sketch challenge reminded me of my white board, so I pulled out Lawn Fawn's A Good Apple stamp set. I love how these two sets complement each other despite being from different companies.  I pulled out Echo Park's Paper & Glue paper pad. I added some dimension using fun foam and finished it off with googly eyes!

NND--Baking Tag

Since I had all my NND stamps out, I decided to make a tag with a stamp set I've yet to use.  (I honestly had forgotten I purchased it!)  For this tag I only added some lace (no burlap). I decided to go with a black, white, and pink  color scheme.  (I seriously want this appliance in these colors!)  Now I just need to bake some cookies, attach the tag, and give to some worthy friend!

NBUS Challenge #7 Anything Goes

Oh, I had a bit of time to play in my craft room. I pulled out my Newton's Nooks Designs stamps because the NND challenge is all about lace and/or burlap. I just love the contrast of lace and burlap.  I used NND's Love Grows set.  I shaded the flower and leaves with Prismacolor pencils. I added the lace and burlap. I die cut the love sentiment (Paper Smooches) several times and glued them together to add some depth. To finish it off I add a bit of bling.

Sunday, August 21, 2016

It's Sunday again, so it's time for another Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. This week is a color challenge--honey, white, amethyst. Aren't they wonderful?  We have a delightful sponsor, Polkadoodles, who is offering one lucky participant a $10 digi voucher.

For my card, I used this darling image entitled You're Weird
My hubby just loved it when he saw this card!  I colored the image using Prismacolor Pencils and then added some Glossy Accents.  I did some layering with card stock. I die cut (Paper Smooches) the paper and stamped the school lines on it. I added some small buttons to add a bit of texture. This is a pretty basic card, but I really like how it turned out!
Hope you will be inspired to use this week's colors! Be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations!

CIC371--Neat and Tangle

Welcome to this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  (I've been having Internet issues--supposedly it's upgrading, but I get Internet for 1 minute then it goes off for 1-5 minutes, so if your reading this and suddenly the rest of the sentence is missing you know why!) This week's Shine Bright challenge is sponsored by Neat & Tangled.  (They have some super fun images that fit this challenge perfectly.)  Be sure to check out the other DT Sweeties to see how they used Neat & Tangled products!  You'll be inspired!

For my card, I used Neat & Tangled's Awesome Die and Sunburst stamp.  For the sunburst, I used my Mini Misty a lot!  I first stamped the image several times in black to get a very solid black foundation.  I then stamped again and added silver embossing powder. I did this twice to ensure the embossing covered the entire image.  Once done, I decided it wasn't bright and shiny enough, so I pulled out Ranger's Holographic embossing powder--it did the trick! I liked the subtle shimmery colors.  I then cut out the image and used my Perfect Layers tool to make a black mat.  For the sentiment, I die cut Awesome out of DCWV glimmer card stock.  I love this die set as it has the background die as well as the word.  I used both black and magenta for the sentiment.  Then I die cut some a couple of stars.  Using some fun foam I added some dimension.  The final touch was some sequins and confetti stars.

I hope you are inspired to join this week at Cupcake Inspirations!

CIC370--The Stamping Boutique

Hello and welcome to this week's color inspiration at Cupcake Inspirations.  The Stamping Boutique is our wonderful sponsor.  The Stamping Boutique is generously providing a prize of 2 digis to our randomly chosen winner.

For my card I used the Daisy Rope digital stamp from our The Stamping Boutique.  I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I die cut it out (MFT) and adhered it to my dark purple card stock. (I know it looks black in the photo, but really it's a beautiful dark purple.)  I then die cut the banner (Avery Ellen) and stamped the sentiment. It's a pretty simple card, but I'm liking it.

For more inspiration using this week's colors as well as The Stamping Boutique's images, be sure to visit Cupcake Inspirations.  This is also where you link up your amazing work using this week's colors!

Kitty Hugs

I have been enjoying my kitty stamps from My Favorite Things. For this card I used the colors from Stampin' Royalty and the sketch from STAMPlorations.

CIC369--My Grafico

Hello and welcome to this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.
This week we are challenging you to make a project using the theme--
Great Outdoors!
We have a wonderful sponsor returning--
One lucky participant will win one digi set of winner's choice.

For my card I used a camper image from the Cool Caravans Collection.

I just adore these vintage campers, but, alas, I didn't have access to a color printer to get to showcase those fun colors.  Wanting to still use them, I inserted the image into a Power Point and adjusted the color settings.  This allowed me to print the image in a lighter gray color. I then outlined and colored the image with my gel pens. I opted for a pink and gray trailer.

Wouldn't you just love getting to "Glamp" in it!
For the background, I mixed some embossing paste with Distress Ink. Then I put it over a star stencil.  Once that dried, I added the sentiment (Stampendous), punched the grass. I added the camper.  To add some sparkle, I added some black and silver stars.  I loved how it turned out, and I would truly like to own this fun vintage trailer!
Can't wait to see how you interpret this week's theme!

Enjoy Your Day

Here's a fun summer card showcases butterflies from Paper Smooches. Hope my card brought a bit of joy to your day!

Newton--Relax--Take 2

I'm back with my second take of Newton relaxing. When I originally started, I had die cut a tag and used it as a mask.  I then watercolored the paper using the NND inspiration picture.  I used the tag to make my first card (see below). I had thought I would use the white masked-off tag area on the watercolored paper to add my Newton image, but it just wasn't doing it for me. I then got inspired by the silhouette palm trees.  I die cut a black tag and embossed the Newton image in white.  I then stamped and colored a bright pink sand bucket to pull the background colors to the front.  To mimic the first card, I then dry embossed the waves.  I then stamped the sentiment added some ribbons and sequins!  Ta-da!  A fun, summery card!
Thanks for stopping by!

Like You a Latte

I'm trying to squeeze in some craft time before August when back-to-school training begins.  This card features the colors and sketch from YNS' challenge #44. This card features stamps from two coffee-themed YNS stamp sets--Coffee Break & Thanks a Latte.  I used Prismacolor pencils to color the image.
I have to admit that I'm impressed with myself for making a one layer card.
Thanks for stopping by! ~D

CIC368--A Day for Daisies

Welcome to this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.

This week we have some amazing colors to inspire you.
We have a returning sponsor, A Day for Daisies, who is providing this week's prize to one lucky participant!  Be sure to play along for your chance of winning a $12 gift certificate!

For my card, I used A Day For Daisies' Cat Fish image.
(Each Sweetie had the privilege to pick a different image so be sure to check out their projects to see more amazing A Day for Daisies images.)
For those who know me, I adore cats. Therefore I decided to take this love and put a magical twist to it. I selected this particular image because I have a gray cat, Catapult, who thinks and acts like a princess.

For the background, I used a stencil (STAMPlorations) and used Distress Ink to shade it. Then I die cut the circles (MFT). For the image, I printed two copies and trimmed one to make a mask. I covered the top of the image with the mask then stamped the design (Skipping Stones Designs) on the tail. I colored the remaining image with Spectrum Noir markers. I added the ribbon and sentiment with a sprinkling of orange stars...a magical card that will hopefully brighten someone's birthday!

Be sure to join us this week!  Debbie

Any excuse to play with kitty stamps, especially Newton, truly makes me happy. This card features Newton (from Summer Vacation) taking a little cat nap. I wanted to pull in a palm tree, so I trimmed off the umbrella and replaced it with a palm tree from Your Next Stamp.  I was trying to capture the colors and feel of the NND inspiration photo, so I stamped and embossed the palm tree with black on black paper.  Then I used Distress ink to capture the colors of the sunset (sunrise?). I had planned to adhere the tag on the white card stock, but it looked a bit plain, so I embossed the white with a waves embossing folder to add a bit of dimension and movement to the card. I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum. I then added a bow and sequins (Winnie and Walter) for a bit of bling!

Challenges I am entering this card in:
